THE LAUGHING MONKEY THEATRE COMPANY
Site hosted by Angelfire.com: Build your free website today!

Following our first performance of Alan Bennett's Habeas Corpus at The Norwich Puppet Theatre, Laughing Monkey are launching a brand spanking new website on the day when we perform the second. With a brand new look, no more long domain names, and no fricking ads (!!!), this will be a (slightly) improved website ... which will improve more as the weeks go on (and as the webmaster gets better to grips with the new system!)

You can find the new website at www.laughing-monkey.com.

We're doing a couple of special bits and pieces to celebrate the launch ...

BIBLICAL TIMES - THE SECOND COMING

With the series finale now on the website, Laughing Monkey are rebroadcasting the whole of their rather good (if we do say so ourselves) audio sitcom on their new website. The broadcasts will again be weekly from Saturday March 15th 2008. For further details on the series and the new broadcast dates, check out the BIBLICAL TIMES page on the current website.

That's right punters - we're having just a week off from rehearsals following Habeas Corpus before we launch into our fourth stage production, Oscar Wilde's sublime social comedy, The Importance of Being Earnest. Tickets are available already and you can bet your bottom dollar we'll be plugging it to the skies over on our new website!

Two young gents living in the 1890's England have taken to bending the truth in order to put some excitement in their lives. Jack Worthing has invented a brother, Earnest, whom he uses as an excuse to leave his dull country life behind to visit the ravishing Gwendolen. Algernon Montcrieff decides to take the name "Earnest" when visiting Worthing's young and beautiful ward, Cecily at the country manor. Things start to go awry when they end up together in the country and their deceptions are discovered - threatening to spoil their romantic persuits.
